Cheras cops looking for motorcyclist who went berserk

KUALA LUMPUR: Police are looking for a motorcyclist who went berserk and broke a car window with a helmet at Taman Tenaga here on Sunday.

Cheras police chief Assistant Commissioner Zam Halim Jamaluddin said police received a report from a car driver on the same day at 9.39pm.

"Police launched an investigation into the car driver's report following the attack on his car. We are tracking down the suspect."

Zam Halim urged those who have information on the incident or recognise the suspect to come forward.

The incident, which occurred at a traffic signal in Jalan Sekilau, was recorded by an occupant in the car, and the video clip went viral.

"We have recorded a few witness statements and investigation is ongoing under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief and causing loss or damage to one's property."

Zam Halim urged the public not to speculate about the incident as it may cause confusion or disrupt public order.

"Anyone with information related to the incident can contact the Cheras Police Hotline at 03-9284 5050/ 5051, the Kuala Lumpur Police Hotline at 03-2115 9999 or the nearest police station," he said.
