MySejahtera services to include booking for hospital, clinic appointments

KUALA LUMPUR: People can now make appointments at Health Ministry clinics and hospitals using the MySejahtera application.

Health Minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa said expanding the use of the application was aimed at reducing crowding and waiting times at public healthcare facilities.

She said the online appointment system would assist healthcare facilities in scheduling matters based on their respective capacities, and address overcrowding at the registration areas.

"A total of 673 healthcare clinics have started accepting appointments through MySejahtera, and this number will grow to include more hospitals and clinics.

"For emergency cases, fever or infectious diseases, people can go straight to healthcare premises without making an appointment," she said today.

Dr Zaliha said eight services would be included in the appointment system. They are outpatient treatment, the National Health Screening Initiative, healthcare scheme for the B40 group, pre-employment/pre-study health screening, pre-marital screening, smoking cessation and family planning services, as well as procedures such as wound treatment, tube replacement and others.

The appointment system via MySejahtera would be expanded to other healthcare services in stages in the future, she said.

"Appointment dates for these services for 2023 may be set through MySejahtera beginning today. They can be cancelled or changed through the application."

She added that one of the advantages of the online appointment system was that customers could plan their visits to primary health facilities according to their suitability.

"In addition, customers can also easily change the appointment date through the MySejahtera application, without having to call the health facility.

Dr Zaliha said the appointment system also had an automated reminder function.

"With the digitalisation of the health service system provided by the Health Ministry, I hope it can promote health programmes under primary health facilities to the community more effectively and make the national healthcare service system more efficient.

"The ministry is always committed to efforts towards the digitalisation of the health system to be in line with the 2021 - 2025 MoH Digitalisation Strategic Plan, under Strategic Core 2 which is strengthening new technologies," she said.
