Bodies of two teenage boys recovered

SIBU: Two teenage boys who were swept away last Friday while bathing in Sungai Rajang, near Durin, about 26 kilometres from here, were found drowned today.

Fire and Rescue Department Sibu Zone chief Andy Alie said the body of Justin Siaw was found at 7.35am and that of Kong Wei Seng, at 8.15am. Both were 15-years-old.

"Their bodies were found about five to 10 kilometres from the location of the incident," he said in a statement here.

The two were bathing in the river with a friend at about 5pm when they got into difficulties some 10 metres from the jetty and were carried away by the current.

A friend of the victims who witnessed the incident rushed to inform relatives and seek help. - Bernama
