PNB completes first public realm improvement initiative near Merdeka 118 tower

KUALA LUMPUR: Permodalan Nasional Bhd's wholly-owned PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn Bhd has completed its first public realm improvement at Perumahan Awam Jalan Hang Tuah here in a bid to foster community progress in tandem with the development of Merdeka 118 tower.

The programme aims to make community spaces liveable by making improvements worth almost RM800,00 at the multipurpose park.

The 1,206 square-foot park is located 400 metres or a seven minute walk from the Merdeka 118 precinct, making it an integral part of the neighbourhood.

PNB president and group chief executive Ahmad Zulqarnain Onn said it is focused on creating a thriving environment for everyone.

"Our efforts will benefit over 800 residents, providing them with a safe and enjoyable space for leisure, recreation, and social interactions. We are excited to witness the positive impact it will have, and we look forward to spearheading similar projects like this in the neighbourhood in the future," he said.

With a strong emphasis on tackling concerns related to safety, cleanliness, and underutilised facilities, the key enhancements encompassed various aspects of the park.

Sustainable practices were also integrated into the project, including upcycling old playground equipment and fencing, reusing pavers as well as upgrading the community garden.

The programme is PNB's collaboration with Kuala Lumpur City Hall and its partner Think City Sdn Bhd.
