Bursa Malaysia extends losses at midday

KUALA LUMPUR: Subdued trading on Bursa Malaysia continued until midday close reflecting a dip in Asian shares which dampened sentiment.

FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI dropped 11.2 points or 0.78 per cent to 1,428.91 at lunch break versus 1,440.11.

It traded between 1,427.46 and 1,436.97 levels in the first half today. Losers led gainers 541 to 252 with 435 counters remaining unchanged.

The index board was also in the red with FBM100 losing 59.5 points or 0.58 per cent to 10,267.34, FBM Emas shed 59.51 points or 0.56 per cent to 10,603.63 and FBM Ace eased 25.65 points or 0.5 per cent to 5,133.02.

Among the actives included Evergreen Max Cash Capital Bhd which added five sen to 40 sen and Ekovest Bhd lost one sen to 55 sen.

Gamuda Bhd was among the top gainers, adding 16 sen to RM4.47, following the release of its full-year financial report on Wednesday which saw an uptick in both earnings and revenue.
