Taliworks, UNISEL to explore water supply options

KUALA LUMPUR: Sungai Harmoni Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Taliworks Corporation Bhd, has signed a collaboration agreement with Universiti Selangor (UNISEL) to explore water supply opportunities.

This includes water treatment plant residual management through UNISEL's Faculty of Engineering and Life Sciences.

Taliworks executive director Datuk Ronnie Lim Yew Boon said that this collaboration demonstrates the company's unwavering commitment to addressing one of the environmental challenges, water treatment plant residuals management.

Lim expressed his delight at seeing UNISEL collaborate with the company to explore innovative solutions that will not only mitigate the environmental impact but also open up new avenues for sustainable practices.

"Together, we will embark on this journey that seeks to transform challenges into opportunities, enrich our collective knowledge, and set new standards in the water supply industry and responsible residuals management," he said in a statement.

Under this agreement, Taliworks said both parties aim to explore opportunities and exchange knowledge, research findings, and resources.

This collaboration aims to combine the technical expertise and research capabilities of both parties for matching grants and publications, exchanging scholarly materials and information, and providing industrial placement for UNISEL students at Sungai Harmoni.

"Moreover, this collaboration will offer opportunities for Sungai Harmoni staff to further their studies at UNISEL," it added.

The signing of the collaboration agreement, which is effective October 21, 2023, will be for a period of five years.
