Malaysia condemns bombings at Kerman Cemetery in Iran

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia condemns the bombings at the Kerman Cemetery in the city of Kerman, Iran on Wednesday, resulting in the loss of at least 95 lives and causing several hundred injuries.

Wisma Putra in a statement today said Malaysia vehemently rejects any acts of violence and terrorism in all forms and calls for the perpetrators of this attack to be brought to justice promptly.

"Malaysia expresses its deepest condolences and sympathies to the victims and families who have lost their loved ones in this tragedy, as well as to the government and people of Iran. We also pray for the speedy recovery of those injured.

"So far, there have been no reports of Malaysians involved in the incident. The Embassy of Malaysia in Tehran is closely monitoring developments and is actively liaising with the local authorities," the statement reads.

The ministry urged all Malaysians in Iran, especially in the city of Kerman, to stay informed about the latest developments, take necessary precautions, and adhere to travel advisories issued by local authorities.
