Saifuddin: No pre-planned cooperation between PH and BN before GE15

PUTRAJAYA: Pakatan Harapan (PH) denied that there had been any pre-planned effort to collude with Barisan Nasional (BN) to form a government prior to the 15th General Election (GE15).

PH secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail reiterated that negotiations with BN were only held after GE15, when it became clear that no bloc had managed to secure seats to 112 to form a government.

"To clarify on my Facebook post, what I meant was the relationship already existed with non-PH political figures years ago. These figures are now holding important positions in the party.

"The personal relationships I have with them made it easier (to negotiate)," he said in a press conference today.

He was clarifying on his recent Facebook posting regarding the cooperation with other parties to form the unity government.

Also present were Home Ministry secretary-general Datuk Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz and Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani.

Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah appointed Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as Malaysia's tenth prime minister after almost a week of a hung parliament post-GE15.

Earlier, Saifuddin clocked in for official ministerial duties at 9.28am, here, today.
