Khalil ready to work with cops over fake Teresa Kok poster

IPOH: Kubu Gajah assemblyman Khalil Yahya is ready to cooperate with the police over a fake poster on his Facebook page alleging that DAP vice-chairman Teresa Kok had been appointed Felda chairperson.

"I lodged a police report yesterday at the Taiping district police headquarters and police have yet to contact me to take my statement.

"However, I am ready to do so (give a statement). I don't want to comment further and let the police investigate this case," The former Perak deputy speaker said when contacted by the New Straits Times.

Asked if the posting was indeed fake, Khalil refused to comment.

It was reported yesterday that Kok dismissed claims that she had been appointed as Felda chairman, as stated in the poster uploaded on Khalil's Facebook page.

Khalil had publicly apologised for the matter, claiming that the poster was uploaded by his Facebook page's administrator.

Brickfields police chief Assistant Commissioner Amihizam Abdul Shukor said the Pas politician had been told to present himself at the Taiping police headquarters tomorrow.

Amihizam said the appointment has been set for Khalil's statement to be recorded at 10am.

On June 21, it was reported that Tan Sri Idris Jusoh would be ending his service as Felda chairman on June 30, and not next May as scheduled.

The former Terengganu menteri besar had stated that his resignation would pave the way for the government to appoint a more suitable replacement.
