Bukit Aman integrity unit cuts short 6 cops' karaoke party

KUALA LUMPUR: Six policemen were arrested in a raid on an entertainment outlet in Setiawan, Perak, by the Integrity and Standards Compliance Department (JIPS) from Bukit Aman on Saturday.

During the raid mounted with the help of the Perak Islamic Religious Department (JAIP) about 11.30pm, police also found a packet of white power suspected of being the drug ketamine.

A source said the six policemen were from the district police headquarters. One of them is a Muslim and tested positive for alcohol consumption, while another tested positive for ganja.

"An Indonesian woman was also detained with the six policemen in the karaoke room," said the source.

JIPS director Datuk Seri Azri Ahmad confirmed the arrests today.

"Further investigations will be carried out and at this point investigations are from the disciplinary aspect.

"There are certain situations where police personnel are allowed to be at such premises, however, personnel who test positive for drugs and alcohol will be investigated," he said.
