Kelantan govt can't develop state without unity government's help, says Anwar

GUA MUSANG: The Kelantan government will not be able to develop the state without the unity government's help, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today.

Anwar urged Kelantan leaders not to talk too much since a lot of assistance was being channelled to the state from the federal government.

"Kelantan (government) cannot afford it. There has to be support from the federal government. I'm not being arrogant. I'm just stating the facts.

"The same goes with Perlis. If we don't help with allocations, they won't be able to pay salaries.

"If we can conclude the negotiations tomorrow, the day after, we can approve allocations for the opposition.

"However, the situation is the opposite in Kelantan. When we (the federal government) announced projects, they (Kelantan government) said we lied to them.

"When we gave our views, they said (we will) go to hell. So I'm asking everyone, including the ustaz in Pas, to reprimand them. Do not simply judge people."

He said this at the Majlis Sentuhan Kasih Desa event.

Present was Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
