Bursa Malaysia closes in positive territory at midday

KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia maintained its momentum to close in positive territory at lunch break ahead of the Budget 2024 tabling tomorrow.

At 12.30pm, FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI was up 9.05 points or 0.63 per cent to 1,445.54 from 1,436.49 on Wednesday's close.

The key index which opened at 1,437.96 hit a high of 1,446.06 throughout the morning trading session. The broader market saw gainers surpassing losers 440 to 317 while 438 counters remained unchanged.

Of the actives, SSF Home Group Bhd was up 1.5 sen to 26.5 sen following its debut on the ACE Market today.

The company opened flat at 25 sen with an opening volume of 15.19 million.

KNM Group Bhd added one sen to 12 sen and NetX Holdings Bhd also gained one sen to 18 sen.

On the losing end, Classita Holdings Bhd shed half a sen to seven sen while UEM Sunrise Bhd lost half a sen to 85 sen.
