Sole BN assemblyman in Kelantan pledges to continue services to Orang Asli

GUA MUSANG: The sole Barisan Nasional assemblyman in Kelantan pledges to serve his voters well, especially the more than 7,000 Orang Asli voters in his constituency.

Mohd Syahbuddin Hashim, who defended the Galas state seat for a second term, said the voters have been fully supporting him since he first became the Galas assemblyman in 2018.

"Being the only assemblyman representing the BN coalition in the Kelantan state assembly will be a bit of a challenge, but it will not damper my spirit.

"I will continue fighting for their (voters') rights, especially the 7,561 Orang Asli voters in my constituency.

"Apart from that, the welfare of the Malays, Chinese and Indian voters are on my agenda. I want them to get the same treatment that others get from the Pas-led state government," said Syahbuddin, while thanking his voters for electing him.

He promised to uphold the trust placed in him by the people of Galas.

"I pledge to carry out my duties well and if possible, l plan to turn Galas into a model for the two other state constituencies that come under Gua Musang parliamentary seat held by Pas," he added.

The Perikatan Nasional coalition were the big winners in the state election on Saturday when it won 43 out of the 45 seats in the state assembly, losing only in Kota Lama and Galas.

The Kota Lama seat was won by Amanah's Dr Hafidzah Mustakim who obtained 9,691 votes.
